Dance in Health & Wellbeing

The Bradford Dance Network piloted an early years dance programme in 6 childrenss centres and primary schools funded by Bradford Public Health.  Dance practitioners received training from a specialist in developmental movement and dance for early years children and delivered 6 to 10-week dance programmes. 

 

The dance sessions included a range of creative and semi structured dance activities. Both dance teachers and the early years staff consistently observed improvements across all areas of learning, particularly in movement skills and physical development but also in development, communication, number, shape and expression.
