Research on Dancing in Time shows promise

10 February 2018

A study on the Dancing in Time contemporary dance programme has been published by University of Leeds. Yorkshire Dance developed this dance programme for older adults from disadvantaged communities and although the research was with a small sample group, it is important as it shows evidence of dance preventing falls in older people, which is a major health issue. The study showed improved balance and mobility, as well as reduced levels of depression and reduced social isolation in older women.

More information on the programme can be found here and full research publication here.
